Light and power to Sierra Leone

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) has been working to help stop Ebola in Sierra leone since early 2014. The country is still recovering from a long and violence civil war that displaced two million people, killed more than 50 000 and fostered widespread abuse of human rights. The IRC provides vital services to help Sierra Leoneans who are struggling to get by to stay healthy and safe and find ways to move towards economic stability.

The IRC distributes WakaWakas in Sierra Leone. This enables recipients to have safe and clean light during dark hours. It also allows them to charge their phones so they can stay connected with family and loved once.
