Cordaid for Nepal

After two major earthquakes struck in Nepal on 25th April and 12th May 2015, the displacement was tremendously increased in Rasuwa. Those displaced people of Haku and Dandagau VDCs started living in four different camps established at Lahaperpauwa and Dhaibung VDCs of Rasuwa district. All the camps settlements are on private land, taken in leased by IDPs themselves from local Landlords. Cordaid is providing basic WASH, livelihood services and transfer of skill based training from the beginning of IDPs started living the camps.

In the IDP camps there is no proper wiring system as electricity line is very basic through wires connection to electricity bulbs for each household inside the camp. Cordaid has planned to install solar light system in all the camps, basically to cover the common areas such as toilets, inner road (small walking trail). On the 23rd and 24th December 2015, Cordaid and Partner organizations distributed Wakawaka in the IDP camps.
